Lizards with boobs?

Deal with it!
So I know you're thinking that it's absurd that a seven-foot-tall lizard somehow needs boobs, but deep in the fundamental heart of fictional biology there is a reason: I'm thinking that because of their matriarchal nature, the Phyllekians would be considered 'marsupial reptiles', meaning they don't actually lay eggs.

It's possible the fetus would initially develop in an egg, which would dissolve or break in utero at some point, similar to an embryonic sac, or something.

I don't know, I haven't really thought this out, but at the end of the day, they're fucking aliens. Deal with it.

Anyways, more developments:

Pictoran male, with size comparison
Pictorans hail from the cold and desolate Pictoris system, one of the few territories unconquered by the Phyllekians.

They are an extremely rugged and hostile race, and have formed an intense rivalry with Phyllek, refusing to submit to constant invasion and coveting of their natural resources.

Trophy
Pictoris is a male dominated society, females being veritable slaves and treated as objects with few rights. This will not stand in Phyllek's books.

Concepts to explore:
• War paint
• Guerilla warfare
• Trophies

Rather despondent-looking Human male, approx 6 feet tall

Yeah, there's going to be one or two humans in the series (Hubrix, for one), but very rarely will you see them out of disguise. Phyllekians abhor Terrans. This should cause some conflict, as Domina inevitably grows quite attached to Hubrix, having him constantly at her disposal and whatnot. (Hey hey...)

The human race's role in the story should be mainly downplayed, I think, and shouldn't really be a deciding factor in any of the politics... at least not until an investigation into Hubrix's origin is declared by the Phyllekian senate.

(Oh yeah, that's right... I said 'senate'.)

God damn, I need a writer for this thing. Preferably someone with knowledge of Ancient Roman politics and herpetology.

Brainstorm

So I had this brilliant idea last night... I still have a bunch of illustration board left over from my courses that I never finished, so I've started re-drawing larger versions of my pictures onto them so that I can sell them or put them on display somewhere. I have a couple of contacts for galleries and a buddy of mine works at a bar that puts up new art on the regular. I figure if I finish five or six pieces he'll let me put them up.

I slept 10 hours during the day today. When the sun comes up, I'm going to buy art supplies.

New Matriarch Developments

So I drew out some comparative character designs to try give the universe a sense of scale. This also helped flesh out the planets and give them a bit of character themselves.

Phyllekians are tall and lithe due to their lowgrav homeworld, but rely on nanite-enforced armor when fighting on denser worlds to prevent them from breaking their bones.

The Vildrahi are an expansionist race of rat-men who are expert miners and merchants. They are abhorred by the Phyllekian Empire and are in a constant state of warfare with them, but nevertheless maintain the largest portion of space in relative size to Phyllek's domain.

Stakkans are a race conquered by Phyllek and used as peons/servants and often militia when needed. Due to the flat shape of their heads, they are sometimes used as tables or shelves for drinks and food at social gatherings.

A few larger aliens and some scenery.

I'm thinking Khegus would most likely be used as mounts by Phyllekians, but I think they more resemble cows. I'm still thinking of what Phyllekian vehicles would look like.

Waste Runners would most likely dominate the surface of Vildris, as the Vildrahi operate mostly underground.

Rock Wurms would be hunted by Phillekians on Palladia for their silk and venin, an extremely dangerous and difficult feat, and would be considered a right of passage to some.

A simple map I laid out to show the arrangement of the different systems in relation to each other. I'm going to try and do a much larger map of the populated galaxy at some point, but these are just a few of the more prominent systems.

Hopefully I'll be able to draw more of this stuff this week. I have to go and find a job at some point.
